Okay, I have 60 pictures that I need to post about the last 4 days. My mom came back to Philly from NJ to share in the celebration of Nat’s birthday! We picked her up on Saturday morning at noon from the 30th Street Station. She arrived with a plum pie, Russian pastrami, chopped chicken livers, rice pudding and prosciutto. What a champ. We had quite the full day.
I haven’t switched banks yet, so I had to go to a shared branch in North Philly. The one that I found that was closest to my house was about a 25 minute drive of getting lost and whatnot. Now, I know that North Philly isn’t the best place to be driving around lost, making me quite relieved when we found the bank across the street from the Tasty Cake factory. My grandmother loves Tasty Cakes.

We drove around for a while longer and I took a picture of a wonderfully named street.

Then, we ate some Chinese food. Nat’s was good, my mom’s was so so, and I didn’t eat mine. But the hot and sour soup was delicious. I don’t know if it merits too much of a mention in the food section, so I’ll put a picture of Nat’s sweet peas and shrimp here.

We went to IKEA twice to get a bed frame, a shelf for clothes, and a spare bedroom “bed”. We also took back the queen sized box springs that we couldn’t fit up our stairs. Of course, we stopped to get some delicious Lingonberry mousse and some Lingonberry soda.

We managed to fit quite a bit of stuff in our car. (And on it.)

But I was happier to get rid of the box springs that lived in my dining room.

My mom was a good supervisor.

Snert Face was just a pest.

The next 3 hours were spent putting together IKEA furniture.

It was late before we finished.

We were proud of our accomplishments.

Tofu was quite pleased.

Finally, it was time for pie!

It was wonderful sleeping on a bed…
