well, you asked!

here are some pictures describing my life lately. of course focusing on pork chop and her hair cut. summer camp is over- we plan for it for 7 months, have it for 2 months, and recover from it for 3 months. it doesn’t leave much room for error.

i’m working mostly from home and doing fun projects, like a newsletter and website stuff. getting ready for a lot of visitors! hilary, nat’s cousin, today! beth, one of my good good friends, on thursday! then i have my mom, mother-in-law, nat’s stepbrother and hopefully my dad in september. i also found out that one of my arts admin buddies took a job in harrisburg, pa, so hopefully i’ll see her soon too! and in october, autumn’s coming from san diego! AND in november, another one of my besties, anna is coming from pdx! i am sppppppoiled.

i had a bump ticket from when i went to puerto rico this april and i’m seattle bound in october-november. west coast, watch out! i’ve missed you so!

okay, back to Eugene (even if it’s a week old!)

I flew to Eugene last weekend for a wedding. It was hard to see my people and then to leave the next day.

We did get to have a Sunday Dinner together. For dessert my mom made abelskivvers.

But then we discovered that I make better abelskivvers.

I got to visit familiar places.

And familiar faces.

My friend Kelli got married. We worked together at the UO and it was great to see her and some of the other usual subjects again.

Eliot was helping me pick out shoes…

I picked the red ones.

The wedding was fun. I got to see Andrea too. It was a fall theme. Kelli looked great.

I wore my cute new Banana Republic dress.

and now, everyone is gone.

Our friends Abe and Beth came to visit us on Wednesday for their anniversary. All the way from Seattle. I was extremely happy to have them introduce me to my new city, ironically. They ran all around, ate, saw, and conquered. Check out East Coast Foods for our yummy adventures.

This picture looks like we are in some crazy city, but it’s really a view from my stoop.

Today, I took my mom and the Nielsens back to the airport. I was sad to see everybody go. (Although I do have a ticket to fly to Eugene on the 19th of October!) My mom brought way too many suitcases and sandwiches from Dino’s in Margate.

We ate subs for breakfast. Snert Face was trying to stow away.

But they managed to leave on time.

we were so hip.

We went to a Vice Magazine party that our friend, Greg Bresnitz, put on.

It was sponsored by Colt 45. Canned Malt Liquor. It was my first (and last) time drinking it.

The party was in a club called Transit. It was an old building that used to be a bank with high ceilings and big disco balls. Although it was not my thing and we only stayed for an hour or so to talk to Greg, it was a neat place.

However, I did get my first Philly parking ticket. At 11:25 pm. Because the two hour parking was until midnight. $26. Irritating.

ah, it feels good to be home

After a day of work, I am going to do some updates to “At the Shore” and “East Coast Foods” right now. Just to let y’all know, I lost my camera a couple of weeks ago and have been using my parents, but now my mom fetched it from me. I’ll get a new one as soon as the big bucks start rolling in, right? But until then, the pictures might be sparse.

Nat’s had several interviews, so he’ll probably start work soon. His birthday is on Friday, but for some reason, he thought that it was Saturday. I hope that he has Friday night off, because my mom is going to make him a pie. He will be 36.

We’re having a great time in Philadelphia. We get to hang out with each other. I get to eat good, fresh food. And Tofu and Snert Face seem to like being inner city cats as well.

a friday night without the Tiny Tavern

You know, I’m not too used to having Friday nights and weekends off. Friday night t.v. is great. Nat and I are hanging out and watching a little t.v.- nothing like a little Charmed and a locally brewed bottle of beer (see East Coast Foods)… My mom gets here in the morning, so we are going to be eating Philly Cheesesteaks all day long.

I had a meeting with Grupo Motivos, wonderfully inspirational Puerto Rican woman. They gave me some organically grown tomatoes and some spicy peppers. So Nat is going going to make me pasta with them… I’m going to update East Coast Foods & Around Fishtown now… Especially because we are on the phone with Nat’s dad, Dan who is being hilariously inappropriate and I need to dump him off on Nat… Hahahah

happy birthday, rose, beth, and silas!

Nat and I seem to know a million people with today’s birthday! Tipsy parents on New Years Eve? Who knows. Well, anyway, happy birthday to all y’all.
Today I got to do some design for a fundraising newsletter that I’m putting out (check the Norris Square link for a picture of it). Nat held down the air conditioned fort with the beasties. No job yet, but he’s working on it!

I had to work late for a meeting so tonight we’re just hanging out with the cats. Tonight there aren’t any pork chops, but we’re going to eat Annie’s Bunny Mac and some fresh watermelon. That sounds pretty darn good to me.
