my west coast friends and family keep whining about having to turn on the heat and bundle up because june has brought nothing but chilly weather and rain. i think that i’d trade you for having superhumidity and 95+ degree weather all week. some charter schools have already chosen to have half-day programming tomorrow and thursday because the weather is predicted at 100 degrees or so. i spent my day buying paint and air conditioners to get ready for our summer program. now that my office is on the third floor of a row house, i have broken down and installed an air conditioner. actually, i didn’t install it. we let some guy take all of our scrap metal and he installed all of the air conditioners that we bought. pretty sweet deal…
this afternoon, one of our youth was interviewed on Telemundo. it was pretty neat to be on the set although it was hard to stay quiet for 6 minutes. not my strong point…
i’m sitting on the couch feeling like i have melted and tofu and pork chop are snuggled up next to me. so i have two hot and furry beasts that now won’t leave me alone in 95 degree weather. at least snert face has the decency to be a basement hermit. nat gets home 2 weeks from today! woohoo! maybe then his beastly cat will leave me alone. pork chop can’t even snuggle with me most of the time because she’s all in mah face.
