pork chop and i had a very productive morning today. we took out the garbage (no small feat when there were 10 big bags of recycling and misc. leftovers from some work we were doing in our living) and then weed-wacked part of the backyard. one of my goals for this summer is to have a nice backyard. i’ll take pictures along the way to monitor any progress (or lack of progress) that happens toward building a nice, green garden. nat planted corn before he left and some of them are doing quite well. a few have fallen over for some reason and a few have been nibbled on by a grazing pork chop. oh, well.
pork chop and i went to a local dog park to try it out to see if we want to join. while she ran around and chased a few dogs, she spent the majority of our 90 minute visit sitting on my lap. she seems pretty pooped now, snuggled up next to me on our couch, so maybe it is worth the $30 per year to join.
i’m itching for a bbq or outside eating and drinking this weekend. it’s a nice 75 and sunny after a week of 95 and disgusting. i also have to write a paper on an organization for school. i think that i might write about nancy’s yogurt. i was at whole foods the other day and was very happy to purchase a container of oregon yumminess. it may be naptime first, though…
also, nat’s really excited about coming back to philly and trying to start an artisan sausage/meat curing/pork worshipping business. of course, it would be very small to start but it’s a neat project to work on together… i’ve been gathering info about business licenses, commercial kitchen rental and have spent my free time developing his logo and website. once we get the ball rolling a bit, we will reveal! this is my ticket to becoming a lady of leisure, so it better go well! pork chop and i are hoping to retire early.
