here’s to 29 years of… wait, i was going to call you old- but if you are old, that means that i’m almost old.

pennsylvania primary
i dragged nat outta bed this morning at 7am to vote in the pennsylvania primary. woohoo. now to watch the news for the rest of the day to see how the news channels will make up what my vote means.
i have radish sprouts!
i visited my garden today and i have sproutlets of various veggies and herbs.
the colbert report on thursday was amazing- hillary clinton, john edwards, patrick murphy (some philly/state politician). i would put pictures but the secret service wouldn’t let anybody. i have a couple pictures of nat and i waiting in line for 4 hours before they let us in. boo.
we did have a nice- and expensive dinner afterward at pod.
it was the first time that we’ve been out for an evening on the town since we moved here at the end of august. nat was concerned about leaving the beastly cats along, but he got over it by eating my soft shell crab dinner. which i didn’t like because it tasted like shrimp tails. and that’s why nat liked it.
today i put a brake on nat’s bianchi so i could ride it. only because it is a “slumping over” bike, my purse got caught in the wheel. double boo.
it’s sunday night, and i wish that we were at my parents house, but we’ll have to settle with a pizza steak and hot wings. and new episodes of desperate housewives and brothers and sisters! woot.
election day on tuesday! i like being the most courted city & demographic right now. only i’ve only gotten 1 polling call. and one from the democratic party reminding me to vote.
pictures from my eugene visit
pictures from e & c’s blog. i’m also eating okra right now.
march madness and april showers
So, I know that I’ve been a slacker in the blogging area- so I’ll catch up on the last month. Nat went to Vegas for his brother Jim’s wedding to Heather. I had to speak at a conference in Harrisburg so I couldn’t go- I am jealous! He missed his plane back. And had my camera- so I didn’t have my camera to take with me to Eugene on my surprise trip home. I surprised my mom and sister in Eugene- although Nat blew the cover and tattled so my mom wasn’t shocked to see me.
When I got back, I went to Pittsburgh to speak at a workshop on urban greening efforts with Iris. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Pittsburgh. It is probably the most attractive and clean city that I’ve been too. It is on my list of places to live some day. When you drive in, there are a million bridges with cars going back and forth- it looks like something out of the Jetsons.
After I got back, I had to go shopping with Iris to get ingredients for our garden dessert catering for the tourism commission of Philadelphia. Whew. But on the way home, I saw a 1961 Seafoam Green Impala 4 door sedan. Now this car has particular meaning to me because I had the exact same color, model, year, EVERYTHING. I loved that car. But it tried to kill me several times and only got 8 miles to the gallon. That would be a bit ridiculous now, huh?
What have I been doing since then? Gardening! I have a plot in our largest garden, Las Parcelas. I have beets, okra, herbs, radishes, and greens. I also worked in another community garden yesterday. It feels nice to be outside. Today I painted the boys’ bathroom at work. It’s an ugly color, but it looks nice and fresh. I used eco-friendly paint from the home depot OOPS $5.00 mistake bins. It took forever to dry!
Now I’m sore from a weekend of not watching America’s Next Top Model reruns. Nat’s making salmon and beets for dinner. And later this week? We have a date to go see COLBERT!!!
MY PICTURES AREN’T WORKING! I’ll try again! Hmmm. They changed how the pictures work. It won’t let me delete the small images. whoops. They aren’t different pictures, just smaller thumbnails.
gardening!
I have lots to blog- that’s my plan for the weekend!
thanks for being patient!!
