a talent show!

tonight, i was asked to be a judge at the talent show of a local 6-12 grade school (Mariana Bracetti) it was fantastic, hilarious and adorable. i got a name tag and a t-shirt! woohoo!

my favorite kid was an 11 year old smily kid with an adorable dance. he didn’t win. i think there was something fishy, because he was all of the judges at my table’s number one… hmmm… he was super sad after the show, almost crying! my co-judges at my table all shook his hand.

stressed and a catnat nap

Whew, it is a hectic week. I’m putting the finishing touches on a few grant proposals and it feels good to accomplish a lot, but I need a nap!

Fortunately, Nat and Tofu have that taken care of…

Whereas, I just look like a zombie.

P.S. Did you notice that Nat is sans-moustache?

n’awlins

I went to New Orleans for a conference this week and had a blast. I’m exhausted, so I’ll nix the commentary and just post the pictures. I did want to mention that one of the women that we went with had a car and we drove around to see the Katrina devastation. It was really intense. My camera battery died, so I didn’t get to take a lot of pictures of the houses, but I got a few. FEMA had spraypainted on all of the houses with codes saying what utilities were gound, how many people were found (living or dead) and other stuff- including if pets had been found. It was really intense because on every house, you had to see the spraypaint.
